Vertigo Winterguard is an Independent Winterguard based out of Huntington
WV. Vertigo will make their first appearance in competition in a WGI circuit
this winter. Anyone age 15-22 with spinning & dance experience is eligable to
audition.
We are contacting you because Vertigo is STILL looking for some new members. If
you know of any guard people that would be interested we ask that you pass on
our information. Or if you meet the qualifications and are interested we hope
you come audition.
Our next rehearsal/audition is this Sunday Nov 8, 1-6pm at Huntington
High School. $15 Audition fee, bring a flag (6ft). If someone is
interested & cannot make it to this Sundays audition, just have them contact me
& we will work out another day for them to come.
A little bit of info for anyone interested:
-I know auditions scare people a bit, so heres the few basics that we did at our
first audition
peggy spins, peggy spin toss, pole hits, money hand toss catching at different
angles. Yes you will do a lot of movement but you do not have to be a dancer,
movement is always a work in progress.
-We are competing in Independent A Class. If you havent watched videos & youre

-Dues will be $400-$500, but we are planning to do A LOT of fundraising. One
is in progress now, two more in line ready to go, & we are still setting up
more. You can usually get the majority of your dues paid off that way. Compared
to a lot of winterguards that is cheap.
-Yes it is possible to march winterguard & drum corps at the same time. Most
drum corps guards break for winterguard. We have one on Vertigo now that marches
Bluecoats, & two other members that plan on auditioning for corps.
-If a high school has a scholastic winterguard, they are NOT eligable to march
with Vertigo under WGI Rules. I believe that is only Spring Valley, Ashland,
South Point & Raceland. However their graduates are eligable to march.
